James Massey poses in his 20-foot bedroom yurt, one of two yurts he built, added rooms onto, and now shares with his wife in Albany, Ohio, on Oct. 18, 2011. Massey, who has set up his yurts in five states since the early 1980s but has kept his yurts in Albany for several years, says, “I lived in tipis for a while and they’re fine, but you’ve got to stay there with a tipi. With one of these, you can kind of go off and leave it, in a way. So it’s not quite so restrictive of staying there.”
